AU - Dean dies and Sam has to break the news to Caroline

Caroline: Sam? What are you doing here.
Sam: I, uh…
Caroline: Where’s Dean?
Sam: Caroline…
Caroline: No. Where is he? What happened?
Sam hangs his head and sucks back a sob.
Sam: He… he didn’t make it.
Caroline felt the blood drain from her face.
Caroline: What do you mean he didn’t make it?
Sam: He’s dead, Caroline. Dean’s dead.
Caroline: No, Sam. That’s impossible! Because he’s the best hunter I know and you were there to back him up!
She tries to steady her voice, but it’s no use. Her emotions are pushing to break free.
Sam: They dragged him down the hall…
Caroline: Shut up! You’re lying, Sam, now where is he!?
Sam: By the time I got to him, it was too late.
Caroline put her hand over her mouth and shook her head.
Caroline: This can’t be happening.
Sam: I did everything I could…
Caroline: No! No you didn’t, because if you did, he’d still be here!
Sam: Caroline, I’m so sorry.
Caroline: Get out, Sam.
Sam: What?

She pushed Sam out the door and slammed it shut, sinking to her knees in a flood of tears.
